Aeronautica Imperialis Gaming Mat, complete with terrain!

Discordian here! So like a lot of people right now I've found I had a lot of time on my hands, and I finally finished a weird side project I've been working on.

Aeronautica Imperialis Gaming Mat, complete with terrain!
Shown with Bio-Titan to scale

I ordered the gaming mat from Deepcut Stuidos (not a sponsored ad, I just really like them and I also got to say Giant Lithuanian Mouse-pad to my wife when she asked what I bought). They will make you pretty much anything you want, you can even upload your own images. I purposely made the hexs very light because I wasn't sure if I'd only use this for new Aeronautica.
The islands and the clouds was me trying to add 3D elements that didn't actually mess with game play. I ordered some pre-cut hexs off of Amazon (if you do this be careful how they're measured, took me awhile to find the right size).

For the Islands, at first I had just glued the hexs to themselves. Then I dropped one and it exploded. After that I cut out a plasticard outline for each and attached them to that.
For the clouds I thought about getting some plastic rods, but shelter-in-place for my area has been in effect for awhile. So I made do with what I had and used flight stands, that I drilled out and stacked to each other, and with the bases attached to the underside of the clouds.
There are two things left I want to do....

1. I want to make better bottom supports for the clouds, they were standing without anything but were definitely not stable enough to put a plane on top. So I took some plasticard and etched a narrow hex pattern to connect the stands at the bottom.

I'm fairly sure I want to go back and make a better versions that go under the mat and incorporates magnets.

2. I'm going to need more hexs......

Allies of Inconvenience- Episode 25: AdeptiCan't and "Fabulous Bill"

Well, we should have had an Adepticon Preshow in March then a Roadshow Special and Adepticon Recap in April... but as you all likely know that couldn't happen due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of the event. However, we still have content to bring you as you sit in self-quarantine in this Frankenstined episode of several recording sessions from both before the event was cancelled and afterwards. We go over hobby progress, the Games Workshop online previews and finish up with a segment discussing one of the most infamous OG CSM, Fabius Bile... or Fabulous Bill as he sometimes is referred to.

Showcase: Adeptus Titanicus Warlord Sinister Psi-Titan

Finished up my Psi-titan the other night and wanted to share it with you all. I still have some alternate weapons to paint for it, but I need Forgewolrd to open back up to get a few more, so in the mean time, since I have no immediate need of the model or specific load outs for games, I decided to call this one done.

I give you my Warlord Sinister Psi-Titan Occedentalis-Khronos.
This really is a great kit. The basic warlord is awesome and the forgeworld upgrades for this really have a lot of character and are nice and crisp in their cast quality.
Before anyone asks, the hazy black was just done by blending black and eshin grey.
Below is a collage of all the different runes/hexagrammatic wards I painted on, free hand. Mixed in Eldar and Necron to go with the lord of the Emperor. He made the Ordo Sinister titans, so I figuered he'd infuse their tech and witchery seeing as he has used/relied on it for numerous projects in the past (Imperial Webway, Void Dragon, Primarchs, etc.).
Oh yes... and Sieg Zeon!
And finally a close up of the Ordo Sinister logo I free handed, the banner I made, and the wrecked Legio Magna Warhound I put on the base. I'd been attracted to Magna as a possible traitor opposite of my Legio Pelagos loyalists, so I figured this was a good place to test. If I did them, I'd need to do something other than Mars basing, because they'd blend in too much (good from a real world perspective. Bad for making tabletop models pop). HOWEVER, using it as basing the close color is nice because it doesn't steal from the main attraction, the Warlord.
If you aren't playing Titanicus you should be. It is an amazing game, and they are amazing models. I hope you liked this one!
