Crazy 3k ALL DEATH COMPANY list

I just wanted to make a list for the fun of it This is 3000 points off ALL DEATH COMPANY ALL THE TIME!!!!
3000 Points, Baal Strike Force

HQ- Astorath the Grim -165
HQ- Chaplain- 115: Crozius, Infernus Pistol, Auspex, Shield of Cretacia
ELITES- Death Co Dread- 185: Power fists, Melta-gun, Heavy Flamer, Smoke Launchers, Lucius Drop Pod
ELITES- Death Co Dread- 195: Blood Talons, Melta-gun, Heavy Flamer, Smoke Launchers, Lucius Drop Pod
ELITES- Death Co (15)- 630: 3 x Bolt Pistol, 8 x Chainsword, 12 x Infernus Pistol, 3 x Powerfist, Thunder Hammer, 3 x Power Weapon
ELITES- Death Co (15)- 550: 3 x Bolt Pistol, 10 x Chainsword, 4 x Infernus Pistol, 8 x Hand Flamers, 2 x Powerfist, Thunder Hammer, 2 x Power Weapon
TROOPS- Cassor the Damned- 140: Lucius Drop Pod
TROOPS- Rafen's Death Co (5)- 210
HEAVY SUPPORT- Spartan Assault Tank- 410: Armoured Ceramite, Pintle Multi-Melta, Frag Assault Launcher, Laser Destroyer, Hull TL Heavy Bolter, Legacy of Glory: Battle of Terra and Schism of Mars
HEAVY SUPPORT- Spartan Assault Tank- 395: Armoured Ceramite, Pintle Multi-Melta, Frag Assault Launcher, Quad Lascannon, Hull TL Heavy Bolter, Legacy of Glory: War of Murder and Battle of Sarosh
So I am actually going to play around with this super Death Co Squad more later, but for now I just wanted to share this ridiculousness. I think it would be MASSIVELY FUN to play. Three DC Dreads dropping in via Lucius Pods is nice and fun, and then two monster squads of DEATH in the Spartans. I also took some LoG to make the Spartans AMAZING. The first one has tank hunters, it will not die, 4+ immunity to haywire and Preferred Enemy for Daemon Engines. The second has monster hunter and one turn of the game can gain skyfire, intereceptor, tank hunter and a few other things.

Then there is the DC. Rafen's squad is just there to be troops. Not a bad squad, and good for some rapid response or to take out a random isolated squad. The other two are walking death. The one that is mostly melta is designed to take out BIG GUYS and Death Stars. No FNP against melta. And with a Chaplain they re-roll hits in CC. With Astorath they re-roll wounds as well. And don't forget, in addition to Furious Charge and Rage, the Baal SF gives them +1 I. So you are talking about each guy getting 5 S5, I5 attacks that reroll to hit, possibly wound depending on the squad, They are walking death, as DC should be. Oh, and don't forget they all have FNP...

Making of a Mandolorian: WIP log 3

So with Halloween just a few short days away I am really focusing on finishing this costume up.

So I have painted and weathered my armour. I even used secret weapon minis weathering powders and some Seraphim Sepia to get the weathering effects I wanted. What is left is

1- Matte varnish
2- Install T-Visor
3- Finish Blaster
4- Build and paint my guantlets
5- Make a vest
6- Sew on Velcro to vest and flight suit
7- Mount Armour
8- Kill Jedi
9- Profit

I am sorry for some of the low quality photos. Working at night and only had the cell phone.

So here you can see the armour laid out for priming.
My bucket pre weathering
I have selected a DH-17 Blaster to modify so it can carry over to the AT-AT driver I plan to procure.
Weathering begun
And complete
This is the MandalMotors logo, hand painted on.

Making of a Mandolorian: WIP Log 2

SO I got my Armour today, but I haven't done anything to it yet. I do however have some stuff to share from my progress... and don't worry regular hobby programming will resume after Halloween.

WIP LOG 1

So I used a dremmel to cut out my T-Visor slot
And ground down the inside of the ear some for my nickel swivel
Sanded down my fillings.
Building up the ear with some plasticard
And here is the covering for the new ear mount
Primed. Had to sand down some parts and reprime some more, but as a whole is it ready for paint.

The Ultimate Gladius Strike Force

I emailed forgeworld recently about their characters and the viability of using them in a Gladius Strike Force
"To whom it may concern,

Per the rules right now, you cannot take Space Marine Characters from Imperial Armour books/the Character Update online. Is this just an oversight or will this be corrected?

Can I take Forge World Space Marines in place of characters from a Galdius Strike Force (ie instead of the Generic Captain, Chaplain, or Librarian), and any of its composite formations (Battle Demi-Company, Strike Force Command, Reclusiam Command Squad, and Librarius Conclave)?"

Here is the response I received:

"Hi.

Our rules guys will be working on an errata/faq to cover how the Forge World Space Marine characters and units interact with the new Codex: Space Marines. We can't tell you when this this will happen as we simply don't know at the moment but hopefully it shouldn't be too far away.

In the meantime we think it's perfectly acceptable to replace any of the special characters mentioned in the Gladius Strike Force formations with any of the Badab War characters where appropriate. By this last point we mean Captains exchanged for Captains, Chaplains for Chaplains and Chapter Masters or Chapters Masters etc."
So I am taking this as a definitive yes for now. If you choose not to, I understand, but it is good enough for me.

Now there is one Forgeworld Character who SCREAMS USE ME for a full Gladius Strike Force

Captain Tarnus Vale! (Rules are downloadable here from FW)

So what does Vale bring? Well other than Ultramarines doctrine goodness to a GIGANTIC formation of marines, you also get the Warlord Trait "storm of fire" from the codex, he grants Tank Hunters, and has these two rules:
Master Gunner: Any friendly vehicle with the sub-type (Tank) chosen from Codex: Space Marines or the Space Marine Siege Assault Vanguard army list in which Captain Vale is being transported gains the benefit of his Ballistic Skill and the Tank Hunters special rule.

Unstoppable Advance: All Rhinos, Razorbacks and Land Raiders in a primary detachment commanded by Tarnus Vale gain an Invulnerable save of 5+ against glancing hits.

5+ INVUL SAVES ON ALL YOUR FREE TANKS!!!!

So here are some lists. I have an 1850 pt and a 3000 point (go big or go home!) version of this concept.
"Vale Force Winds" 1850

Chapter Tactics- Ultramarines

Battle Demi-Company 1- 930
Vale- 165
Command Squad (5)- 185: Apothecary, 4 x Veterans w/ Grav Guns, Razorback w/ Lascannon and Twin Plasma
Tactical Squad (5)- 100: Multi-Melta, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 100: Multi-Melta, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 125: Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Assault Squad (5)- 125: Power Fist, Eviscerator, Flamer, Razorback w/ TL Heavy Flamer
Devastator Squad (5)- 130- 4 x Multi-melta, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon

Battle Demi-Company 2- 740
Chaplain- 90
Tactical Squad (5)- 85: Plasma Cannon, Razorback w/ TL Heavy Bolters
Tactical Squad (5)- 125: Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 125: Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Assault Squad (5)- 125: Power Fist, Eviscerator, Flamer, Razorback w/ TL Heavy Flamer
Devastator Squad (5)- 190- 2 x Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, 2 x Plasma Cannon, Razorback w/ TL Lascannon

Auxilary- 10th Company Task Force- 180
Scout Squad (5)- 60: 5 x Sniper Rifles
Scout Squad (5)- 60: 5 x Sniper Rifles
Scout Squad (5)- 60: 5 x Sniper Rifles

Cheapest Auxilary while giving max support IMO. The rest of the list is the standard Gladius SF set up IMO, and is generally made to take all commers, though I think it is particularly brutal against enemy armour. And who better to give tank hunters to than the 4 special weapons and apoc of a command squad (same for the next list too!)

"Vale Force Winds" 3000

Chapter Tactics- Ultramarines

Battle Demi-Company 1- 1120
Vale- 165
Command Squad (5)- 185: Apothecary, 4 x Veterans w/ Grav Guns, Razorback w/ Lascannon and Twin Plasma
Tactical Squad (5)- 110: Multi-Melta, Sarge w/ Combi-Melta, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 110: Multi-Melta, Sarge w/ Combi-Melta, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 135: Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, Sarge w/ Combi-grav, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Centurion Assault Squad (4)- 235: 3 x Melta-guns & Hurricane Bolters, 1 x Heavy Flamers & Hurricane Bolters
Devastator Squad (5)- 130- 4 x Multi-melta, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon

Battle Demi-Company 2- 1140
Chaplain- 95: Melta-Bombs
Command Squad (5)- 165: Apothecary, 4 x Veterans w/ Melta-Guns, Razorback w/ Lascannon and Twin Plasma
Tactical Squad (5)- 105: Plasma Cannon, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 135: Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, Sarge w/ Combi-grav, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Tactical Squad (5)- 135: Grav-cannon w/ Grav Amp, Sarge w/ Combi-grav, Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon
Assault Squad (10)- 225: Vet Sarge w/ Power Fist, 2 x  Eviscerator, Razorback w/ TL Heavy Flamer
Centurion Devastator Squad (3)- 280- 2 x Grav cannon and Grav-amp, TL Lascannons, 3 x Missile Launchers, Omniscope.

Auxillary- Land Raider Spearhead- 740
Land Raider: 250
Land Raider Crusader: 250
Land Raider Redeemer: 240

So this second list mixes it up a bit and brings in the AWESOME LR SPEARHEAD which now gets a save against glancing hits and then gets to ignore damage done. NICE. The idea is to put the 10 man assault squad and Chaplain in the Redeemer, the Cent Assault Squad in the Crusader and the Cent Dev Squad in the standard raider. Put Vale in the Cent Dev squad in the Land Raider for Tank Hunters and BS bonuses. Point and destroy.

Making of a Mandolorian: WIP Log 1

So in addition to loving the Warhammer Universe, I also love Star Wars. However, I need more miniatures like I need a hole in my head. So instead of X-wing and Armada and games like that, I have started down a different path: Costuming.

I am saving up for an Anovos Officially Licensed AT-AT driver, but that doesn't come out for some time. I the mean time, I had an old Don-Post Boba Fett helmet and needed a Halloween costume and something for the upcoming premier of ep 7. Thus I began making a mandolorian  of my own.

While I wait for my armour to arrive in the mail, I began my helmet. The first thing to do was make a new rangefinder as the one that came originally with the helmet has been missing for years. I was looking at buying one and then was like "Wait, I am a veteran Hobbyist, I can do this EASY"... and I did.

I super glued the 4 nickles together to make the pivot for my rangefinder.
Square Plasticard tubing, a round dowel, and I-Beam plasticard, cut and superglued together.
Metal/concrete epoxy to attach the nickels to the range finder.
It will be able to pivot still once the ear cover is made and on.
So I made the rangefinder with 3 thickness of plasticard. Thickest on top, medium for the sides and the paperthin/flexible card for the curved bottom. I made it 6cm long by 4 wide. 2 Deep on the stem end and 1 on the other. The sides are glues together and then reinforced with green stuff on the inside.
Lastly I had to start filling the various scrapes and dents to make it less Boba Fett and more mine. Green and Grey stuff was perfect for this. I also built up the lower left cheek since it was curved and higher than the other side. Next I will sand them all down and paint the helmet.

So there you go, my work so far on my helmet. I'll keep you all posted, expect it to be finished before Halloween.

Instead of WIP Weekend, I am playing Battlefront

I am sure many MANY of you have med this decision. It is okay.

I am actually getting a little work done painting a tactical marine right now as I take a break from Walker Assault after walker assault.

BUT for those of you ALSO playing the Star Wars Battlefront Beta, you should watch these videos, because man oh man are they hilarious.

Monthly Reader Submissions: Bringing Hobby Back

Hobby is meant to be shared, not squandered

Recently a reader stumbled onto a guest post of mine on Spikey bits. He was so moved by my Kitbash that he came to Sepulchre, liked my facebook, and sent me a message sharing his first kitbash, something he was quite proud of.

To me this is what the hobby part of, well, the HOBBY is all about. Sharing our work to inspire others and encouraging others no matter their skill level or talent, their years of experience or relative newness to the hobby. It is a BIG part of why I do Sepulchre of Heroes.
The submitted Sanguinary Priest by one Mr. Goodall.
Because of this I'd like to start a new thing on Sepulchre in an effort to bring the hobby to a wider audience. There are alot of amazing artists out there proud of their work, but blogging isn't for them. That is perfectly okay, but there is no reason you still can share your work!

SO once a month I'd like to to feature a post with YOUR work. Work like seen in this post. You can submit it via email:
Sepulchreofheroes@gmail.com
PUT "Bringing Hobby Back" in the subject line.

Alternatively you can pull up Sepulchre of Heroes on Facebook and give us a like and message us there. Link is on the right side of the page! As well, why not give us a like on Twitter or Google+!
Notice the cool dual mag storm bolter mounted on the wrist! Armed with a Glaive Encarmine as well!
The only guidelines are
1- Don't send MASSIVE file or 30 pictures of the same thing. 1-4 pictures of the same model at most. I leave you to manage size (for now) but best judgement please. Basically, they have to fit as an attachment
2- PNG, JPG, Bitmap, GIF (non-moving) files ONLY
3- Please do not OVERWHELM me with your entire collection. A few things per person a month at most.
4- Completed models or sculpts/scratchbuilds. No WIP painting or building. But an enitre scratchbuild/conversion/sculpt right before paint is fine, especially if is is provided as a "Before" with a painted "After"
5- If you want to pass a link with your Tumblr, instagram, etc. etc., feel free.
6- Include what name/handle you want attached with it. If none are included, I will just leave your submission anonymas
7- SUBMIT ANYTHING HOBBY RELATED. Any and all models. Historical, Fantasy, Sci-fi! Airfix to Forgworld, lets see it.
8- Include a brief (and I mean BRIEF) description on what is special about it or what it is. Is it just a nicely painted Dystopian War Prussian Carrier or is it a one of a kind Orc Knight Titan with parts from the defiler, battlewagon, and aegis defense line?
I'll share the work I receive around the end of each month.

I really do hope this takes off and can become a regular thing!
